Padmagad Fort

Padargad is a small fort with almost no ruins but just few water tanks and caves.What makes it trekker’s delight is the climb to this fort which is considered as a medium grade as it demands technical skill and equipment. To reach the top of Padargad one has to cross a few rock patches and a chimni climb which makes it the most thrilling experience. Once you reach atop you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the entire bhimashankar range. One can see Siddhagad, Kothligad (Peth) and Bhimashankar from here.







 

Vijaydurg Fort

The earlier fort encompassed area of 5 acres and was surrounded by sea on all the 4 sides. Over the years the eastern trench was reclaimed and the road was constructed theron. Presently the area of fort is about 17 acres and is surrounded by Arabian sea on its three sides. (1 acre= 4840 sq yards). Chatrapati Shivaji extended the area of fort by constructing three fort walls on the eastern side. These three fortifications are of 36 m height and he also constructed 20 bastions of the fortwall.



 

Sarjekot Fort

Sarjekot is one amongst the chain of forts built by Shivaji in and around Malvan. Fort is situated on the mouth of Talashil Estuary which displays its splendor. Sarjekot was constructed in 1668 at the mouth of Kalavali Creek. The creek was navigable inland for 11+ kilometers, and it runs in zig-zags, thus producing natural safe inland anchorages. Presumably many of Shivaji’s ships could shelter in the creek during storm season. Sunset view from this fort fascinates visitors. Sarjekot is also a natural port.



 

Sindhudurg Fort

Sindhudurg Fort is a fort that occupies an islet in the Arabian Sea, just off the coast of Maharashtra in Western India. The fortress lies on the shore of Malvan town of Sindhudurg District in the Konkan region of Maharashtra, 450 kilometres (280 mi) south of Mumbai. It is a protected monument.
